Human Resources and Finance Manager, Canada Hub
Wendy manages the financial and operational foundations that support the organization’s work at the nexus of sustainability and digital innovation. She handles financial oversight, operational compliance, and human resources with a structured, people-focused approach. Wendy joined the team in 2021 as the Project Manager for the National Dialogues, delivering a series of pan-Canadian virtual events exploring ways digital innovation could advance Canada’s sustainable development. In 2022, her portfolio expanded to encompass finance and human resources operations. She works closely with the management teams of the Future Earth Canada Hub and the Future Earth Global Secretariat, Concordia University’s Office of Research, Financial Services and HR departments, banking partners, and external accountants and auditors. She oversees research grants, budgets, financial reporting and audits, alongside recruitment, onboarding and payroll. Her responsibilities also include corporate investments, fiscal sponsorships, regulatory compliance and Board administration. Before joining the team, Wendy spent more than a decade as an independent consultant, establishing financial and administrative systems for small businesses and start-ups. She built reliable accounting, recruitment and office processes that strengthened their day-to-day operations. Today, her work ensures that funds are responsibly managed, people are supported and the team has the structure and resources to advance its research and partnerships.
