2016 International Conference of the French Ecological Society – Sfécologie2016
Sfécologie 2016 will promote and support exchanges around the latest developments in ecological research and the most exciting challenges raised from the different disciplines of ecology. It will share scientific evidence, confront experiences and develop collaborations across the Mediterranean Sea, Europe and the world.
“We expect this event to be the most significant event in 2016 for the ecological sciences in the French-speaking world – with about 1000 academics, students and stakeholders expected to meet in the splendid Pharo Congress Center for exchange and discussions around the latest advances in basic and applied ecological sciences.” says Prof. Wolfgang Cramer from the organising committee.
The 4-days programme will be extensive, including 5 plenary speakers, thematic sessions and 14 symposia as well as inviting social events (conference outline here).
The conference will be held in English. It builds on the former successful events of Ecologie 2010 in Montpellier, France, and the Joint Meeting of the British Ecological Society and Sfé in 2014 in Lille, France.
The conference is organised by the Mediterranean Institute of marine and terrestrial Biodiversity and Ecology (IMBE, a lab of Aix Marseille Université / CNRS / IRD / Université Avignon).
