Launch of the Advance Unedited Version of the Global Sustainable Development Report, 2015 edition

The advance draft of the GSDR 2015 was released on 30 June 2015 and contributes to the 2015 session of the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development of the United Nations (26 June-8 July 2015).

The 2015 edition of the GSDR is a 200-page UN publication that is the first edition of the GSDR. It was prepared on the basis of extensive inputs sought from the UN system, government officials and stakeholders at all levels, including representatives of academies of sciences, of key international assessments, and relevant UN expert groups.

ecoSERVICES supported the drafting of GSDR 2015. Alpina Begossi, Karine Payet-Lebourges and Martin Solan, as well as Marion Glaser and Sebastian Ferse from the ecoSERVICES community of practice contributed to Chapter 3. The Oceans, Seas, Marine Resources and Human Well-being Nexus.

A side event – GSDR 2015: Highlights and Way Forward – is held on 1 July 2015 in conjunction with the 2015 High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development to facilitate a more in-depth discussion of the 2015 GSDR and to discuss lessons learnt for the way forward. The High-level Political Forum meets from 26 June through 8 July 2015 in New York, USA. The 2015 GSDR is one the Backgound Notes supporting their discussions and deliberations.
