Elena Bennett, Sandra Lavorel, Berta Martín-López and Martin Solan: co-authors of IPBES assessments

Elena, Sandra, Berta and Martin will contribute to the “Regional/subregional assessments on biodiversity and ecosystem services” for the the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES).

We are pleased to announce that four members of the Scientific Steering Committee of ecoSERVICES will help with Deliverable 2(b): Regional/subregional assessments on biodiversity and ecosystem services of the Work Programme of the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES).

• Elena is Lead Author of Chapter 1: Setting the scene for Americas,
• Sandra is Lead Author of Chapter 5: Integrated and cross:scale analysis of interactions of the natural world and human society  for Europe and Central Asia,
• Berta is Coordinating Lead Author for Chapter 2: Nature’s benefits to people and quality of life for Europe and Central Asia, and
• Martin is Lead Author for Chapter 2: Nature’s benefits to people and quality of life  for Europe and Central Asia.

Deliverable 2(b) aims to assess the impact of biodiversity and ecosystem services and threats to them on human well-being and the effectiveness of responses. The assessments will identify the need for capacity, knowledge and policy support tools.
