Five new scientists join the scientific steering committee of ecoSERVICES

The scientific committee of DIVERSITAS appointed the new members to improve the balance between the representation of social and natural scientists and North and South perspectives in the governance of ecoSERVICES.

Alpina BegossiGeorgina CundillLouis LebelPetra Tschakert and Ernesto Viglizzoare the new nominees and will start their mandates on 11 August 2014 for a duration of three years renewable once.

They will complement the team of ten who joined the committee in January 2014 (see news here).

The committee will work together in the new ecoSERVICES that is a merger of four projects of DIVERSITAS that will deliver more integrative ecosystem service science under the umbrella of Future Earth.

During 2014, ecoSERVICES will be double-hatted as a core project of both DIVERSITAS and Future Earth; it will become a core project of Future Earth only in 2015, after the closure of DIVERSITAS at the end of the year.
