Nomination of the scientific steering committee of ecoSERVICES

The scientific committee of DIVERSITAS appointed ten scientists from the natural and social sciences to govern the scientific and engagement strategies and activities of ecoSERVICES under Future Earth.

Elena Bennett and Wolfgang Cramer were appointed as co-chairs of ecoSERVICES. The other members are Sandra Lavorel, Berta Martín-López, Jeanne Nel, Unai Pascual, Natalia Pérez Harguindeguy, Martin Solan, Peter Verburg and Guy Woodward.

Their mandates start on 1 January 2014 for a duration of three years renewable once.

This appointment takes place as four projects of DIVERSITAS were merged to form the new ecoSERVICES that will deliver more integrative ecosystem service science under the umbrella of Future Earth.

During 2014, ecoSERVICES will be double-hatted as a core project of both DIVERSITAS and Future Earth; it will become a core project of Future Earth only in 2015, after the closure of DIVERSITAS at the end of the year.
